Introducing ProductCycle — Understanding digital products lifecycle across Africa.

Today, we're launching ProductCycle, a community that includes founders, sales, UX engineers, product developers/designers, product managers, or whatever job title whose function is to build products. We'll be bridging the current information gap by sharing practical ways to build profitable tech businesses in Africa while dodging all the setbacks that come with the continent both in terms of infrastructure and buying power.

How It Started

As product creators within the African tech ecosystem, we've seen a number of successful tech businesses including those that have gone on to raise millions of dollars from the most renowned VCs across the globe. The stats look promising and are attracting attention from global tech players looking to come into the market which is a welcome development at this point. After the initial excitement comes to the execution stage, where we find out that the market isn't as huge for all sectors, there's a huge infrastructure deficit and a single policy could send you out of business amongst other things.

Where We are

This is why we've decided to create this community that'll fast track our growth and creates access to shared premium information to help grow the ecosystem. It'll be covering the lifecycle of a product from ideation to exit, and how digital products in Africa should be run in the most practical sense possible, and not just vague information with no action points. There will be detailed content on how tech should be branded, designed, and engineered for Africans so tech businesses can thrive and make the best of the youngest continent in the world.

What next?

As the community grows, our vision is to create impact, influence the way products are built in this terrain, and evolve into something bigger than us even beyond Africa! We have been working quite hard over the past few weeks to set things up with the community, we can't wait to have you all on board.

You can make sure to join our community on Discord, Twitter, and Whatsapp for more in-depth discussions around these topics.
